Description
The ComAp MainsCompact NT is a dedicated mains supervision controller. It is the “command center” for the grid side of a power system, specifically designed to work in tandem with up to 31 InteliCompact NT MINT gen-set controllers.
While the gen-set controllers handle the engines, the MainsCompact NT manages the utility connection, synchronizing the entire group of generators to the grid for “no-break” power transfers or peak shaving.
Key Features of the MainsCompact NT
-
Grid Monitoring: Provides full 3-phase mains protection, including over/under voltage, frequency monitoring, and vector shift detection to ensure the grid is healthy before connecting.
-
Automatic Mains Failure (AMF): Automatically signals the gen-set group to start and take over the load the moment a grid failure is detected.
-
Peak Shaving: Reduces electricity bills by starting generators to keep grid power consumption below a set limit during high-tariff peak hours.
-
Breaker Control: Manages the Mains Circuit Breaker (MCB) and can optionally control a Master Generator Circuit Breaker (MGCB).
-
Seamless Integration: Designed to “talk” natively to the MINT series over a CAN bus, meaning minimal complex wiring for the user.

Critical Buyer’s Guide: MainsCompact NT
If you are selling this unit, your customers need to be aware of its specific role and connectivity:
-
Not a Gen-Set Controller: It cannot start or stop an engine directly. It is a “Mains Supervisor.” It must be used with gen-set controllers (like the InteliCompact NT MINT).
-
No Built-in Ethernet: Like the rest of the “NT” and “4 200” family, this unit requires a plug-in module (such as the IB-Lite) for Ethernet or internet connectivity.
-
End-of-Life Notice: The MainsCompact NT is largely obsolete. If a customer is building a new system, you should direct them toward the InteliMains 210, which offers modern features and better availability.
-
Legacy Configuration: It uses the older LiteEdit PC software for configuration, rather than the newer InteliConfig suite.
