InteliGen NT BaseBox

The ComAp InteliGen NT BaseBox is the predecessor to the NTC version. Like all “BaseBox” models, it is a display-less unit designed for mounting on a DIN rail inside a control panel. It is the core “brain” of a gen-set system, usually paired with a remote display like the InteliVision 5.

While it is an older generation, it remains a common sight in existing industrial installations and mission-critical sites like hospitals and data centers due to its specialized support for Controller Redundancy and high-reliability paralleling.

Description

The ComAp InteliGen NT BaseBox is the predecessor to the NTC version. Like all “BaseBox” models, it is a display-less unit designed for mounting on a DIN rail inside a control panel. It is the core “brain” of a gen-set system, usually paired with a remote display like the InteliVision 5.

While it is an older generation, it remains a common sight in existing industrial installations and mission-critical sites like hospitals and data centers due to its specialized support for Controller Redundancy and high-reliability paralleling.

Key Features of the InteliGen NT BaseBox

  • BaseBox Architecture: No integrated screen; the controller is protected inside the cabinet while the user interacts via a remote display or PC.

  • Proven Paralleling: Supports up to 32 gen-sets in parallel (Island or Mains) with built-in synchronizing and digital load sharing.

  • Customizable Logic: Features a built-in PLC interpreter, allowing for complex site-specific automation.

  • Marine & Critical Certifications: Often carries extensive marine certifications, making it suitable for offshore and shipboard power management.

  • Controller Redundancy: Specifically designed to allow a second “hot-standby” controller to take over if the primary unit fails.

Comparison Table: InteliGen NT BaseBox vs. Modern Generations

The NT BaseBox is a legacy “Base” unit. The key difference between it and the “NTC” version is that the NTC added native USB and expanded on-board communication options.

Notes:

  1. Display Required: This unit cannot be operated without an external display (e.g., InteliVision 5 or InteliVision 8) or a direct PC connection.

  2. Legacy Connectivity: Unlike the NTC or InteliGen 4 series, the NT BaseBox does not have a built-in USB port. To configure it, customers will likely need a CI-RS232 or USB-to-RS232 interface.
